John Henry asked about his Liverpool future after European Super League collapse

John W. Henry had little to say when asked if he had a message for Liverpool fans following the collapse of the European Super League on Tuesday night.

The Reds' owner has since apologised to supporters for his role in the failed attempt at a breakaway league in a video released on the club's social media platforms, but was giving little away when BBC's Michelle Fleury caught up with the FSG principal at Fenway Park Stadium.

Spotting him arriving at the ground of the Boston Red Sox, Fleury approached Henry and asked him a series of questions about the European Super League and his future at Liverpool.

But while he waved and appeared to nod, he walked away without commenting.

"Good evening Mr. Henry. Any word for the fans?," Fleury asked following Henry's arrival. "Any word for the fans please? Is the end of your plans for the ESL? Do you still intend to keep hold of your ownership in Liverpool."

However, while Henry did not appear to respond, Fleury caught up with him again when he was leaving the stadium.

On this occasion, Henry did reply but his response was inaudible behind his facemask before he was driven away.

"Mr Henry, we couldn't hear you earlier. Is there anything you would like to say to the fans of Liverpool?" Fleury asked. "Is there anything you would like to say? We can't hear you."
