John Hartson turns Celtic tour guide as Guy Mowbray left awestruck by traditional Lisbon Lions tribute

Celtic gave some international flavour to their Europa League epic against AZ Alkmaar with the introduction of Guy Mowbray on commentary for one night only.

The BBC's main man behind the mic, Mowbray's voice is a regular fixture at Euros and World Cups while he can also be heard every Saturday night on Match of the Day.

But he fancied sampling the famous Parkhead atmosphere for himself this week – in a similar manner to Rangers poaching Clive Tyldesley for their in-house broadcasting – and left the club's PPV viewers impressed.

However, it seems his last visit to Glasgow's east end was some time ago, as Mowbray wasn't quite up to speed with the rituals of a Celtic matchday.

That's understandable given his regular English Premier League commitments and there was an endearing quality to former striker John Hartson's impromptu pivot to a Parkhead tour guide as he explained the light show on the 67th minute to celebrate the Lisbon Lions, a fixture at home games for many a year.

As the phone torches went up, a seemingly awestruck Mowbray said: "Lovely, lovely sight."

Hartson guided him as he said: "67th minute, the Lisbon Lions. First British club to win the European Cup. They do this every 67th minute."

And Mowbray delivered a typical one-liner: "That's what the star on the shirt is for."

There was also a moment shortly after the own goal that delivered a 2-0 win for Ange Postecoglou's hosts when fans around the ground performed the so-called Huddle.

Mowbray in his innocence described it by its regular term, the Poznan, not that ecstatic fans watching at home were too bothered.
