John Harbaugh doesn’t sound thrilled A.J. Green could make his return vs. Ravens

A.J. Green is one of the NFL’s biggest mysteries heading into Week 10.

Whether Green plays or not as the Cincinnati Bengals host the Baltimore Ravens remains to be seen. He had what sounds like a setback Wednesday due to swelling.

Either way, Green has the attention of the Ravens in a way most opponents don’t. Just ask Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, per ESPN’s Jamison Hensley:

“A.J. Green is one of the best in football. We made an argument before that he’s the best in football. He’s been injured for a while. So, it will be his first game back in a while. Of course, it would have to be our game.”

Green’s lack of playing this year and the fact he might be on a limited pitch count this weekend — if he plays at all — doesn’t seem to bother Harbaugh much.

And why not? Over the course of his career, Green has absolutely torched the Ravens over 11 matchups, catching 53 passes for 886 yards and nine touchdowns, including some critical, game-changing plays.

Like anyone else, Harbaugh knows the potential return of Green is one of the big reasons the Bengals were comfortable throwing everything at rookie quarterback Ryan Finley.
