John Fury warns Deontay Wilder he could be killed in fourth fight with son Tyson

John Fury has claimed Deontay Wilder could be "killed" if he earns a fourth fight with his heavyweight champion son, Tyson.

Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has called a halt to his previous plans to retire and will return to the ring this weekend against Derek Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Should the 'Gypsy King' pick up another win, a whole host of fights could be available in 2023, including an undisputed clash with Oleksandr Usyk.

His next mandatory defence could come against former three-time opponent Wilder, who may earn a fourth clash with a win over Andy Ruiz Jr in the ordered WBC title eliminator. But Fury Sr believes his son's long-term rival should avoid the renewed battle and explore other options to regain a title.

"I want to see Deontay Wilder beat somebody of note," Fury Sr told Mirror Fighting courtesy of FreeBets.com when discussing a fourth fight between his son and Wilder. "Andy Ruiz Jr to me is not performing and they know this. Why doesn’t Deontay Wilder fight Joe Joyce? He is up there with the top three in my eyes. When Tyson fights Deontay Wilder and fights him next, we know his weak spot.

"It will be over for him. You beat a man three times, you can beat him 10 times. I am waiting for a new crop of heavyweights to say this kid might have a man who can beat Tyson. It is up to Tyson what he wants to do, but when he fights him for a fourth time, make it the final one. End his career.

"Both sides are weak, Tyson will hit him that hard this time he will be lucky to regain consciousness. All he is said is that he wants a body on his record, he wants to kill but I think karma will come his way. If he fights Tyson I think he has to watch what he says, because I think karma is going to bite him in the backside.

"If I was Deontay Wilder, I would be a father to his kids and a man to his women and stay away from the Gypsy King. Say too much to him, he will start crying. The bottom lip goes, I am bit of an emotional guy myself. He hasn’t got the minerals for the ‘Gypsy King’. Let’s go down another avenue."

Wilder could have a whole host of alternative options available if he opts against fighting Fury again, which could include British star Joyce. And Fury Sr believes the 'Juggernaut' could be the latest man to beat Wilder by following in the footsteps of his son. He continued: "For me, Joe Joyce is a big challenge, he is a strong man.

"He is relentless, he keeps coming forward and comes on strong with championship rounds. And if you are like Wilder and have no boxing ability, he will beat you. If you can take Wilder’s power, he is beaten. Fight Joe Joyce then Wilder, not that clown Ruiz, who isn’t performing."
