John Eustace on Luke Freeman's QPR future with Middlesbrough and Leeds tipped for summer move

John Eustace has revealed that he wants Luke Freeman to stay after speculation linking him with a summer move.

The midfielder was an unused substitute for the 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, meaning that the former Arsenal youngster may have played his last game for QPR.

Freeman has been linked with a move away from Loftus Road after another fine campaign at Loftus Road, and Eustace says that it's a compliment that he's being tipped for a big move.

Asked why he wasn't involved at Hillsborough, Eustace said: "Luke’s been fantastic all season. It’s a dead-rubber today.

"Luke was rested like he was in the previous game. It’s a chance to play younger players and give them the experience needed.”

Freeman has featured in either of QPR's last two games leading to speculation that the club are preparing for life without him, and Eustace admitted that he didn't know if the midfielder has played his last game for the club.

Asked if Freeman will be around next season, Eustace said: " I don’t know.

"Luke’s a top player at this level so it’s only a good thing that there’s clubs watching him.

It’s good for the club but hopefully he’ll be at the club next season because we need all of our top players.”
