John Eustace issues rallying cry as QPR prepare for trip to 'hostile' Millwall

John Eustace has called on his Queens Park Rangers players to be ready for the challenge ahead as they prepare for a massive month ahead.

The Hoops find themselves just five points above the relegation zone after picking up just one victory in the league since Boxing Day.

Tonight they face a crunch encounter with another relegation rival, Millwall, at The Den, and Eustace says that his players know they're in for a fight.

He said: "Every game is big, especially between now and the end of the season.

“We know we have let ourselves down. We have six games left and I can tell you that the players that go out on that pitch are going to be ready to fight and scrap to keep us in the Championship.

“We are prepared for it and we will be competitive. In every game we play, we need our players to be leaders and we need them to embrace the challenge in front of them.

“We were all disappointed with the result at the weekend.

"It was against a very good team but we have spoken about that and we are ready to go for Millwall.

“Everyone knows we are in a tough situation but the way the boys have responded this week and trained, they are ready for the challenge.

“The players haven’t needed to be lifted, they know what’s ahead. It’s a big four weeks, starting now.”

Sky Sports pundits have their say on whether QPR and Millwall will avoid relegation

Eustace added: "We have spoken about the challenge. It is always a very hostile atmosphere there and a tough place to go, and that will be no different this evening.

“We know the task in front of us, we know what’s required and we will go into the game ready and prepared for the test.”

Eustace also issued a call to arms for the QPR fans.

He said: "We need the fans’ support now more than ever.

"They have been fantastic this season, especially when you consider recent results.

“All I ask is that you stick with us between now and the end of the season. We will be fighting and scrapping, and the fans’ support could be the difference for us.”
