John Elway says Broncos don’t have any players on trade block

The Broncos (1-4) celebrated cornerback Champ Bailey‘s addition to the team’s Ring of Fame on Friday evening and recognized select members of the Broncos Top 100 Team. Denver general manager John Elway was at the event and spoke to the media about a variety of topics, including trade rumors.

The NFL’s trade deadline this year is Tuesday, Oct. 29 and Elway was asked if players like outside linebacker Von Miller, cornerback Chris Harris Jr. and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders might be on the trade block.

Elway shot down rumors that those players might be traded.

“You guys bring all those names up, I have not brought any names up,” Elway said. “We’re trying to win football games and no one from our end is on the trading block. We’re going to try to continue to win football games.”

After starting the season 0-4, the Broncos finally got their first win of the season last week, a 20-13 win over the Chargers on the road. Elway is hopeful that the momentum from that win will lead to more victories.

“We dug ourselves a little bit of a hole early,” Elway said. “We’ve played good enough football. We just haven’t been able to win some of them. It was nice to get one last week so hopefully we roll on that this week.”

Up next for Denver is a home game against the Titans (2-3) in Week 6.
