John Elway confirms Broncos will add a 4th quarterback to roster

During his pre-draft press conference Tuesday, Denver Broncos general manager John Elway said he doesn’t know yet if the team will select a quarterback in this week’s NFL draft.

Elway did confirm, though, that the team will add another quarterback to the team’s 90-man offseason roster.

“I think we’re going to look and see what’s available once we get through the draft and see how the draft goes,” Elway said. “We will look at possibly bringing in another veteran or even a younger guy for competition.

“We’ll have four in camp. We have three now so we will add another quarterback whether it be through the draft [or something else].”

Joe Flacco, Kevin Hogan and Garrett Grayson are the three QBs currently on the team’s roster.

If the Broncos do not draft a quarterback, the team’s options will be to sign a college free agent or a veteran on the street. Last year, Denver signed Hogan, a veteran, to a one-year deal before the regular season.
