John Dorsey to discuss Jamie Collins’ future with agent at combine

The future for Browns linebacker Jamie Collins is a big topic of debate for Cleveland fans and media. It’s also something that concerns Browns GM John Dorsey, enough that Dorsey is set to meet with Collins’ agent, Bus Cook, on Friday at the NFL combine in Indianapolis.

Dorsey talked about the scheduled meeting in his press conference on Thursday.

“Jamie is a good football player,” Dorsey said. “So what we’re going to do is, we’re going to sit and talk to his representatives, we’re going to go back as an organization and talk about all these different things, and then we’ll make a decision here moving forward.”

Collins has two years and $23 million remaining on his contract with the Browns. He has flashed being worth that lofty salary, but his inconsistent play and barrage of minor injuries have also left his performance lacking at times.

Dorsey could be asking for a restructure with Cook, or the two sides could agree that a parting of the ways is the best solution.
