John Cotter quit Cork City tonight - just a day after Neale Fenn’s appointment as boss.
Cotter, who had been right hand man to John Caulfield, was in interim charge of the Rebels since May.
But he was unsuccessful in his attempts to land the role on a permanent basis with former City player Fenn preferred.
Cotter tweeted: “I have officially left @CorkCityFC. I have loved my time with the club and have made many great friends in that time.
“I would like to thank all the players, staff and supporters who all shared in the success we had and wish them even more success #CCFC84.”
