It's been a fortnight since Cork City have been in action and, in the meantime, they have been leapfrogged in the table by tonight's opponents Sligo Rovers.
But City caretaker boss John Cotter is banking on the Leesiders' away form to move his side above the hosts again at the end of a week when Cork bosses have move to hit back at rumours about financial problems.
"Sligo is always tough, but we've had a decent record away from home this year," said Cotter. "Whether you're in Turner's Cross or away from home, the main thing is that you do your work and that you're prepared for it.
"The last couple of weeks have given us a chance to do that, so hopefully we can put in a performance, play well and come away with a result."
The sides played out a scoreless draw in April and Cotter admits it was a frustrating night at Turner's Cross.
"Darragh Rainsford had a great chance at the end where he takes it and it hits Mitchell Beeney in the face, but when chances like that come along, you need to take them," he said.
"Hopefully if we do create those chances on Friday, we'll be in a better position to take them".
