John Bishop visits Falls Road, Portrush and South Armagh for latest TV series

Comedian John Bishop has taken a tour of some of Northern Ireland's famous locations as part of his new TV series.

In the final episode of John Bishop's Ireland which airs on Sunday night, the scouse funnyman will visit Portrush, Belfast and South Armagh.

John embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime, 600 mile road trip around the Emerald Isle, taking a deep dive into Irish culture.

The comedian has previously spoken of how much Ireland means to him given that it was whilst gigging in small clubs and bars across the isle that he decided to quit his job in pharmaceuticals and give stand-up comedian a proper go- a decision that changed his life beyond recongition.

In the fourth, concluding episode, John travels to Portrush. Battered by big swells and cold arctic winds, John goes swimming at the Arcadia.

Before moving onto Belfast, where he discovers a unique taxi tradition on the Falls Road.

He then finishes his NI journey in South Armagh, where he meets farmer Jas McDonald for an idiosyncratic take on the reality of living on the border.

The series has been a been rollicking and hilarious voyage that followed John discovering iconic sights and quirky customs, but has also seen him perform his comedy along the way, from a small and cramped surprise gig in Belfast, through to the biggest stage in all of Ireland as he completes journey in Dublin.

You can see John visit Northern Ireland in John Bishop’s Ireland which airs on Sunday, May 19 at 6.30pm on UTV.
