John Bercow flies off handle in 2am chaos - Speaker's vicious slapdowns in full

John Bercow was never exactly known as a wilting flower.

Now the not-shy-and-retiring Commons Speaker is fully off the leash after announcing he'll stand down on October 31.

Marmite Speaker Mr Bercow - who has previously denied historical bullying allegations - let fly at his Tory enemies in 1.20am scenes of chaos in Parliament that finally ended just before 2am.

He spoke as pro-EU MPs shouted "no!" and "shame on you!" when the Queen's representative arrived to shut down the Commons for five weeks - despite 51 days remaining to Brexit .

One MP, Labour's Lloyd Russell-Moyle, to stop him leaving his chair before becoming embroiled in a scuffle with Commons doorkeepers.

Mr Bercow did eventually go to witness the prorogation of Parliament, held in the House of Lords, while MPs refused to follow and sang political songs instead.

But before he was replaced with a homespun paper sign proclaiming 'SILENCED', he had a few brash choice words for his critics. Here they are in full.

"This is not a normal Prorogation. It is not typical. It is not standard.

"It is one of the longest for decades, and it represents, not just in the minds of many colleagues but for huge numbers of people outside an act of Executive fiat."

To Tory MP Graham Stuart: "I do not require advice on order from you, Mr Stuart. You are a master of disorder, man.

"I completely understand why very large numbers of Members are much more comfortable staying where they are.

"Mr Stuart, if you do not like it, you are perfectly entitled to your view.

"I could not give a flying flamingo what your view is!"

'I couldn't care less!'

To an MP who groaned 'oh, I can't do this' when Mr Bercow gave an impromptu speech, he shrugged: "I could not care less whether you like it or not."

MP supporters cheered and clapped.

He added: "No, I am more than happy if people have the basics of tolerance and manners to listen, they would hear that I am perfectly happy, as I have advised others, to play my part, but I want to make the point that this is not a standard or normal Prorogation."

'Get out - you will not be missed!'

To Tory MP Andrew Stephenson, who gestured at him to go and witness the prorogation: "I do not require any assistance from you, Mr Stephenson.

"You would not have the foggiest idea where to start on seeking to counsel me on this.

"I require no response from you, young man." [As MPs cheer and bray and he leaves]: "Get out man—you will not be missed."
