John Bennett fires Rangers scores to settle warning as he offers solemn pledge to Ibrox fans

John Bennett feels Rangers have scores to settle after he compared the journey back to the top as like a member of his family being hurt.

The Ibrox club are Premiership champions for the first time in a decade after a tumultuous period on and off the pitch.

From the financial meltdown of 2012 through Charles Green, Mike Ashley and Celtic doing Nine In A Row Bennett says he has felt the pain.

And with Steven Gerrard' s side now top dogs on the pitch he wants to make sure everything is right off it too.

Bennett told Rangers TV: "I know what was done to my club.

"Rangers are part of your family. And this member of my family was hurting and being hurt.

“I was in a position, fortunately, that if I were able to help you answer that call.

"I was asked if I would help and that was March 2015.

“I turn it to anybody else and if a really loved member of your family is suffering to that extent at the hands of people you have got to change the people and stop the hurt. And restore that club.

"We are going to right our club.

“And that is all that matters to me in this whole thing - righting this club on the pitch and off the pitch.

“That is not done yet in all respects. We are back where we belong at the top of Scottish football, but there is an awful lot more still to be done to make sure we stay there.”
