John Beaton handed Celtic and Hearts Scottish Cup Final date as whistler makes showpiece debut

Referee John Beaton will be the man in the middle for the William Hill Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and later this month.

The SFA whistler will take charge of the clash for the showpiece for the first time.

He will be assisted by linesman Frank Connor and Graeme Leslie, with Alan Muir acting as fourth official.

Kevin Clancy and Nick Walsh will be behind the goals as additional officials.

Beaton has refereed 15 games this season and handed out 59 yellow cards and two red cards.

He last took charge of a Celtic game as they slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Rangers at Parkhead in October.

His last time overseeing a Hearts game was on their run to the final as they saw off Falkirk in the fifth round.
