John Barnes makes bold Jurgen Klopp prediction as he discusses Liverpool's crisis

John Barnes has backed Jurgen Klopp to guide Liverpool to another Premier League title as he dismisses the idea of him taking the Germany job.

The 53-year-old has a contract until 2024 giving him another three seasons once the current one ends.

Klopp managed to end the club's 30-year wait for a top flight title last term in sensational style.

Liverpool have been unable to mount a meaningful defence of their crown however as they languish down in eighth.

But Barnes is confident that Klopp will be able to rejuvenate the Reds and again conquer the Premier League.

He told Goal :  “If Jurgen Klopp stays at Liverpool long term, then I'm sure he’ll win another Premier League title with Liverpool.

“If he’s still there next season, he will definitely be challenging with Manchester City.

“His contract runs until 2024, so we still have three more years of Klopp in the Premier League for him to have the chance of winning another Premier League title for Liverpool.”

Injuries have hampered Liverpool's ambitions this season with the absence of Virgil van Dijk in particular a huge blow.

But going forward the Reds may be in need of a fresh injection with their attacking trio not producing like they have in recent years.

Klopp has benefited from having a very settled team over the past three years, but he may now need to reshuffle his pack.

His future at Anfield was the subject of mass speculation when Joachim Low announced he would step down as Germany boss.

The Reds boss was installed as the early favourite to take over, but was quick to distance himself from the role.

“Liverpool fans won’t be worried about rumours of Jurgen Klopp going for the Germany job in the summer after the Euros," added Barnes.

“The manager has already said he has no interest in it, so we must take his word for it."
