John Barnes makes astonishing Celtic claim as 'hungry' Joe Hart tipped to be Hoops hit

John Barnes has claimed Joe Hart "won't come under much pressure" if he moves to Celtic - despite the Hoops going for an historic Ten In A Row next season.

The Liverpool legend was Celtic boss for an eight month spell in the 1999/2000 season and departed the role after an infamous 3-1 home defeat to Inverness in the Scottish Cup.

Former England keeper Hart has been in dialogue with the Scottish Premiership champions after a deal to re-sign Fraser Forster on loan for the season appeared to fall through. He is available on a free transfer after his contract with Burnley expired.

While teams have won Nine In A Row from both halves of the Glasgow divide, Neil Lennon 's men face an historic season to become the first to secure a full decade of dominance.

And Barnes reckons that Celtic's style of dominating the ball in games would mean "hungry" Hart would be ideally suited to a move north.

Speaking to BonusCodeBets, John Barnes said: "I think Joe Hart going to Celtic would be a great move for him and for the club.

"Goalkeepers can continue playing for a lot longer than outfield players, which helps in this situation.

"Joe Hart is an experienced player, who loves his football, is hungry to keep playing at a top level and is still relatively young.

"Going up to Scotland, where he won’t come under much pressure whilst playing for Celtic, will be a good move for him and I am sure is somewhere that he could do well at."
