John Aldridge trolls Liam Gallagher with brilliant tweet about Manchester City and Oasis

Former Ireland striker John Aldridge put the boot in Liam Gallagher when the rock star took a shot at his beloved Liverpool football team.

Oasis frontman Gallagher is a die-hard Manchester City fan and his comments on Twitter angered many Liverpool fans on Saturday.

He said he doesn't rate Liverpool's achievement in winning their first Premier League title this season.

Instead the Manchester man claims that Leeds winning promotion to the Premier League is a much bigger deal.

Liverpudlian Aldridge didn't take the dig at Jurgen Klopp's side lying down and fired back at Gallagher.

Making reference to the Rolling Stones song Gallagher man quoted, Aldridge slagged off Gallagher, Manchester City and Oasis all in one supersonic tweet.

It's not the first time Gallagher has riled up Liverpool fans in recent weeks.

The 47-year-old called for the season to be voided during the lockdown when Liverpool were streets clear of the opposition with a handful of games left to play.

Gallagher wrote: "This is pure w***. Void the season, absolutely ridiculous. All because the scousers ain’t won the league for 300 years."

He and older brother Noel don't agree on much these days, but they will be glad to hear the end of Liverpool's title heroics.

Aldridge, meanwhile, will be telling the Burnage siblings to stop feeling blue and looking back in anger.
