Jogger arrested for allegedly pushing pedestrian in front of London bus

The woman suffered minor injuries.

British police have arrested a 50-year-old jogger on suspicion of knocking a woman into the path of a bus on a busy west London street earlier this year.

CCTV footage of the incident, released this week, showed a male jogger knocking a 33-year-old woman head-first into the path of the bus, which narrowly managed to swerve out of her way.

The 50-year-old from nearby Chelsea was arrested and released pending further inquiries, police said.

The arrest came after police released the CCTV footage as part of a public appeal to trace the jogger.

The 33-year-old woman received minor injuries when the man knocked her over as she walked across Putney Bridge on May 5.

The bus stopped and some passengers rushed to the victim's aid.

Police have praised the bus driver's quick response.

Investigators said they had received a good response from the publicity push, and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
