St Helens are lining up a Super League return for star hooker Joey Lussick.
The Mirror understands the defending champions are in hot pursuit of the Parramatta Eels ace, who set Super League alight with some pulsating performances during his time with Salford Red Devils.
Lussick arrived at the Red Devils as a relative unknown having signed from Wentworthville Magpies.
But alongside close friend Jackson Hastings, the pair masterminded a sensational run of results that saw Salford make their first ever Grand Final in 2019.
Such was Lussick's form, he earned a deal in the NRL with Parramatta for the current season and scored on his debut earlier this year.
However, he now looks set for a return to Super League, with Saints launching a move to land the 25-year-old star.
Saints have already raided the overseas market after confirming the signing of Tonga international Will Hopoate on Monday in a move from Canterbury Bulldogs.
The club are set to lose a number of stars from their back-to-back winning side at the end of the season, with James Bentley heading to Leeds, Lachlan Coote joining Hull KR, Theo Fages signing for Huddersfield and Fijian centre Kevin Naiqama returning down under.
But Saints have wasted little time picking up new recruits to challenge again in 2022, with Lussick the latest in their sights for next year.
Kristian Woolf's men are still on course to secure the three-peat at the end of the season after beating league leaders Catalans at the weekend.
