ARLINGTON, Texas _ The Rangers could not hit a fly ball in the late innings on Saturday night.
Boston could. Game, Red Sox.
A Hanley Ramirez sacrifice fly to center gave Boston a 6-5 win against the Rangers at Globe Life Park. The Rangers wasted three homers, two by Joey Gallo.
The Rangers had a chance to take the lead in the eighth. With runners at second and third and none out, Isiah Kiner-Falefa grounded into a drawn-infield. With the bases loaded and one out, Gallo struck out. The inning ended with Jurickson Profar's strikeout.
Starter Cole Hamels came out after six innings, leaving behind a 5-3 lead. The bullpen gave up the advantage in the seventh.
Alex Claudio replaced Jose Leclerc with one on and one out and allowed run-scoring hits by Andrew Benintendi and J.D. Martinez. Mookie Betts daringly scored from first on Benintendi's hit, catching Profar by surprise as he ran from shortstop to get the ball in the outfield.
