Joey Essex set to make million-pound profit as he sells lavish Essex mansion

TOWIE alumni Joey Essex may be a self-confessed two sandwiches short of a picnic but he'll soon be laughing all the way to the bank as he is set to make almost £1.5million from selling his luxury pad.

The reality TV star, 30, received a whopping £3million bid for his four-bedroom lavish home in Chigwell, Essex, which he paid £1.6million for in 2014.

A source said: "It's a great deal for him, he's chuffed. It shows he's not too stupid, after all."

Joey, who confessed to not being able to tell the time on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, is thought to be worth around £6 million and bought the bachelor pad when he was just 24.

The fan favourite appeared on MTV Cribs in 2019 to show off the opulent lad pad – which includes a huge garden complete with a pool, beach bar, hot tub and basketball court.

Joey first appeared in the ITV reality show in 2011 as Chloe Sims' cheeky cousin and quickly became one of TOWIE's best-loved cast members, known for his 'reem' catchphrase.

This self-confessed airhead once declared he wanted to hand out Michelin Scars while appearing on Celebrity MasterChef.

Despite his dippy moments, Joey’s bank balance has not suffered. He landed a number of TV deals including for Educating Joey Essex, The Jump, I’m A Celebrity, Celebs Go Dating, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and Splash. Joey even tried The Chase Celebrity, without success.

Joey is not the only TOWIE star to have cashed in, with several of the show's other stars boasting an impressive bank balance.

Top of the pile in terms of financial worth is TOWIE original Mark Wright.

Since leaving as a series regular in 2011, versatile Mark, 34, has been a success as a TV personality, fitness guru and footballer.

Now the star, thought to be worth £9.1million, wants to be a fashion designer for his clothing range to be called AYTEE7, believed to refer to 1987, the year of his birth.
