The Fleetwood boss tweeted the photo of himself outside Parliament Square yesterday with the caption “solidarity”.
He joined Extinction Rebellion members as they continued a second week of demos to coincide with MPs returning after the Easter break.
The Metropolitan Police have arrested 1,065 people in connection with the protests, and 69 have been charged and will appear in court in London.
The Met said: “This number of arrests is unprecedented and is diverting officers from keeping London safe.”
The force vowed to continue arresting those “who refuse to stop causing widespread disruption”.
