Joelinton's vow to Newcastle United fans after impressive performance against Manchester United

Joelinton has vowed to throw his body on the line for Newcastle United in their scrap against relegation.

The £40million man is proving to be a revelation after dropping back to play midfield amid the struggle in the Premier League.

After starring in the 1-1 draw against Man United, Joelinton reflected: "It's a new position for me. I try to give everything for the team.

"Unlucky with the result but we can be proud of the game and we just keep playing.

"It was a hard game but we take the positives.

"I understand what the manager is asking from me on the pitch."

And after the Magpies came close to winning it against Man United, Joelinton said: "Some days things don't happen but today I tried to work and I hope to continue this and do good work and hope we can win the game and improve this situation."
