Joelinton's 2019/20 season for Newcastle United predicted by Football Manager

Newcastle United are set to break their all-time transfer record for the second successive transfer window, with the signing of £35 million striker Joelinton set to be confirmed shortly, with reports suggesting that he has undergone a medical this afternoon.

The 21-year-old, who currently plays for Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, scored 11 goals and registered nine assists in all competitions last season, which alerted Newcastle to his talents.

The reported fee of around £35 million will break the Magpies all-time transfer record, a record that was broken previously by the £20 million arrival of Miguel Almiron in January, as Steve Bruce looks to get a competitive squad in place for next season.

But, how many goals will Joelinton score?

And, where will Newcastle finish in the league with the Brazilian upfront?

We used Football Manager 2019 to try and predict the future and see how Joelinton could get on in his debut season.

The Brazilian even scored more than Harry Kane! (Although the England striker did make less appearances)
