Joel Piroe to Swansea City latest as transfer fee and PSV Eindhoven player's wishes discussed

Swansea City have agreed a fee with PSV Eindhoven over a transfer swoop for Joel Piroe, according to sources in the Netherlands.

WalesOnline revealed earlier this month that the Swans were eyeing up a move for the 21-year-old frontman.

It's understood Piroe - who has one year left to run on his contract with the Dutch outfit - is keen on a move to south Wales.

Sources in the Netherlands now state Swansea have agreed a fee of around €2m for the capture of Piroe, although WalesOnline were told the sum would be closer to £1m.

Piroe is currently on holiday while Brexit complications have also ensured any potential deal still appears to be some way away.

The forward made eight appearances for PSV's first team last season and scored one goal, although his overall game-time amounted to just 80 minutes.

Swansea have already agreed a deal to sign 19-year-old striker Kyle Joseph from Wigan Athletic.

They are eager to add a centre-back, a midfielder and another creative player to their ranks in the coming months.

The summer transfer window closes at 11pm on Tuesday, August 31.
