Joel Klatt on Ohio State Football: “The best defense in America is in Columbus”

FOX Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff was in Columbus, and the Ohio State Buckeyes did not disappoint, shutting down one of the NCAA’s best teams in Wisconsin.

The running back many consider the best in the country was absolutely shut down. Jonathan Taylor totaled just 53 rushing yards, a season-low, and was held without a touchdown for the first time this season.

In their 38-7 route of the Badgers, Wisconsin’s only score came off a blocked punt, where they were gifted the ball in Ohio State’s territory. Aside from that, Wisconsin did little against a dominant Ohio State front.

In Columbus, Ohio for the game, FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt was seeing the same dominant defense as the other 100,000-plus that filled Ohio Stadium, and he went as far as to call them the best in America.

He’s not wrong though.

With potentially two cornerbacks that could be taken in the first-round pick and Chase Young, who is easily dubbed college football’s best defender, on their side, no one is getting through in the air or on the ground.

That was in full effect Saturday as Ohio State doubled up Wisconsin’s 191 total yards.

In fact, J.K. Dobbins himself out-gained the entire Badgers offense. That’s the type of performance this Buckeyes’ team needed to finally earn much-needed respect among analysts.
