Joel Glazer to meet Man Utd fans in bid to mend relationship after protests

Manchester United co-chairman Joel Glazer will meet with fans next month in the first step to mending the broken relationship between the owners and supporters.

Glazer will attend an online fans' forum on June 4, against a backdrop of renewed hostility towards his family, who are the largest shareholders at United.

United fans want the Glazers out of Old Trafford and there have been violent protests against the Florida-based family in recent weeks, culminating in the postponement of the Liverpool game on May 2 after fans stormed Old Trafford.

Glazer promised to engage in a more constructive relationship with United fans in the wake of the collapsed and controversial European Super League proposal, which proved the catalyst to reignite the anti-Glazer movement.

Announcing his intention to have dialogue with supporters at next month's forum, Glazer said: “I'm looking forward to the meeting to hear their views and be part of a constructive discussion.

"I firmly believe this can open a new era of positive dialogue and cooperation between club and the fans.”
