Joel Glazer confirms Manchester United fans' forum attendance

Joel Glazer has confirmed he will attend a Manchester United fans' forum on June 4th.

The United co-chairman has been in dialogue with the club's Supporters' Trust in recent weeks, since tensions between fans and the Glazer family reached boiling point with two mass protests outside Old Trafford.

United fans demonstrated before their scheduled home match against Liverpool on Sunday May 2, and again when the game was rearranged on Thursday May 23.

Manchester United Supporters' Trust demanded a response from the Glazers after the protests, which came on the back of the ditched European Super League proposals. United fans are unhappy at the involvement of Joel Glazer in the ESL but also with the family's running of the club in general. They have been in charge since 2005.

An emergency Fans’ Forum was held on April 30 amid the European Super League fallout, but now Glazer has confirmed he will attend another meeting to discuss various issues with United fans.

Writing on the official United website, he said: “I am looking forward to the meeting with the Fans’ Forum to hear their views and be part of a constructive discussion.

If the Glazers are staying at United for the foreseeable future, what do you want to see them do next? Tell us in the comments.

"I firmly believe that this can open a new era of positive dialogue and co-operation between the club and the fans.”

The Supporters' Trust has called for the Glazers to allow fans to buy up "meaningful shareholding" and to have a "meaningful say" on key matters at the club.

"This is our objective, and there will be no let-up until we get there," they said in a response to Glazer earlier this month.
