American Joel Dahmen got his first win on the PGA Tour at the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship and has shown the ability to consistently produce high-level golf over a number of years now. He makes a lot of cuts and his best finish in a Major to date is a tied-10th finish at the 2020 PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park. So what does he put into his equipment setup out on Tour? Driver
What Driver Does Joel Dahmen Use?
Dahmen is currently using a Ping G430 LST driver with a 9° head adjusted up one degree to 10°. It's fitted to a Mitsubishi Diamana TB 60 TX shaft.
Fairway Wood
Ping G425 Max
He then uses a Ping G425 Max three wood which has a stated loft of 14.5° but he has opted to adjust it down to 13.5°, making for one of the stronger lofted three woods you're likely to see in a Tour pro's bag. This is fitted to a Mitsubishi Diamana TB 70 TX shaft
Hybrid
What Hybrid Does Joel Dahmen Use?
Rather than carry a five-wood, Dahmen uses a Ping Anser hybrid which has been part of his setup for a very long time. In fact on his website he calls the club 'my baby'. It has 20 degrees of loft and a Ping Anser TFC 800D shaft.
Irons
What Irons Does Joel Dahmen Use?
Dahmen uses a PXG 0317 ST 4-iron and PXG 0211 ST irons from 4-PW. All of them are fitted with Dynamic Gold X100 shafts. While this does mean he technically carries two 4-irons, they have very different characteristics, meaning they both fulfill a different job in the bag.
The PXG 0211 ST blades are triple forged, solid-body irons that provide exceptional feel and workability. It's very consistent too - our testing showed that the distances repeated themselves and only the worst strikes saw significant drop offs in carry. The ball flight is quite flat, which suggests that faster swingers will get the most out of these irons and golfers looking for a little more speed and assistance off center can opt for the equally impressive 0211 DC model.
Wedges
What Wedges Does Joel Dahmen Use?
Dahmen carries three PXG 0311 Sugar Daddy II wedges with 50, 56 and 60 degrees of loft. His 50 and 56° wedges have 10 degrees of bounce on them, whie the 60 had 9 degrees of bounce.
His 50° is engraved with a PXG logo sporting the US flag with 'Bucket Hat Brigade' etched into the back too. This is a nod to the bucket hat Dahmen wears during every round he plays on Tour.
Putter
What Putter Does Joel Dahmen Use?
Dahmen uses an Odyssey Jailbird 380 putter. The mallet designed Jailbird putter has become one of the most popular putter designs on Tour over the last 12 months with the like of Rickie Fowler, Wyndham Clark and Keegan Bradley also adopting this style of putter in their bags.
