Joe Worrall sums Nottingham Forest's first half at Middlesbrough with one word

Joe Worrall believes his Nottingham Forest side were “pants” in the first half of their clash against Middlesbrough.

Despite taking the lead through Ryan Yates after 29 minutes, the hosts hit-back through Rudy Gestede and Lewis Wing to turn the game on its head before the interval.

And although Lewis Grabban's controversial late goal earned Forest a point in the final 10 minutes, it felt like a missed opportunity for Sabri Lamouchi’s side.

The Reds now sit eight points behind Leeds United in the race for automatic promotion, with just 10 games remaining.

“We were rubbish first half. The lot of us were pants. We sat down at half-time and weren't happy,” the Reds defender told Sky Sports post-match.

“But at the end of the day we have come away with a point. We started the game with that and it is always nice to go away with at least what you came with.

“But yeah it is not good enough a draw is not good enough we should be winning that game.”

Before Worrall added on his team-mate Grabban: “Yeah he is worth every penny we have spent on him.

“He’s up there on tallies with goals for us and we wouldn’t be where we were without him, it is as simple as that.

“You have said it, he has not been firing as of late, but today he came up with a massive goal for us and it is up to us to chip in and take the load of his back.”
