Joe Worrall sends message to Rangers ahead of Nottingham Forest return

Joe Worrall has sent a message of thanks to Rangers ahead of his return to Nottingham Forest.

The England Under-21 international played 31 times for the Scottish giants during an up and down season-long loan spell.

Although he did not win over all Rangers fans, Worrall says he will always treasure his time at Ibrox.

The 22-year-old is now set to return to Forest ahead of pre-season when he will look to force his way into Martin O'Neill's team, despite a huge amount of competition at centre-half.

Although he was praised for his performances, he also made errors at times, which drew criticism from fans and pundits as he was constantly under the microscope at such a big club.

“It’s fair to call him that (a flop), fans are entitled to their opinion,” pundit Jackie McNamara said of Worrall this week.

“It is different because Rangers have to win to keep up with Celtic because if they don’t win second is no place for them.

“When he signed at the start he looked good, like a few others at Rangers but he’s making a few mistakes and sometimes it can be quite unforgiving.”
