Joe Worrall's brilliant message to Nottingham Forest fans amid coronavirus uncertainty

Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall has sent a message to fans as they adapt to life without football.

The season is currently on hold because of the coronavirus, with the government advising against social gatherings as the nation battles Covid-19.

That has meant the Reds' season has been postponed until April, with matches against Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield Town and Bristol City called off for now.

There are fears, though, that the season will not restart at the beginning of April as is planned.

The Reds' charge to the Premier League has been halted, with Sabri Lamouchi's side in fifth place with only nine games remaining.

They are five points clear of the Robins in seventh and look a good bet to finish the season in the top six.

Worrall, meanwhile, has updated fans on what he's been up to and offered an insight into the mood among the players.

"Right everyone, just on a nice little plod to Newstead Abbey and back," he said in a video posted by the Reds' Twitter account.

"I've tested out my new running shoes!

"Not had an opportunity to try them out yet because we've been so busy playing football.

"But now, because we'be got a bit of a break, I had to get them out the box and give them a bit of a run.

"I hope everyone is in good spirits.

"Obviously it's a bit of a shame we are not playing and stuff at the minute.

"I don't know what to do with myself.

"Just to let you know the mood in camp is all good and we are just looking forward to hearing some positive news over the next couple of weeks.

"Hopefully we can get back on the pitch and finish the season strong.

"I'd like to say hello to everyone and we are keeping fit ready to come back.

"All the best."
