Joe Willock hopes to come to the 'right decision' this summer but Newcastle United will always have a 'special place' in the Arsenal loanee's heart - regardless of where he ends up next season.
Willock made a remarkable impact during his loan spell at St James' Park and became the first player since Alan Shearer to score in seven consecutive Premier League games for the club.
Mikel Arteta is expecting Willock to return to the Emirates, but Steve Bruce has vowed to test the Gunners' resolve in the coming weeks.
Although Willock has stopped short of making any promises, when it comes to extending his stay on Tyneside, the 21-year-old previously hinted that 'hopefully there is more to continue in the future'.
Willock is currently enjoying an end of season break in Spain but the 21-year-old will eventually discuss his next step with his father, Charles, who is also his representative.
"I'm going to sit down with my team and think about what's best for me next season," he told NUFC TV.
"I'm going to go on holiday now and hopefully we can come to the right decision.
"Newcastle will always have a special place in my heart. Wherever I go, this club will always have a special place in my heart so I just want to say thank you to all the fans who have helped me so much and made me feel so welcome and opened their arms for me.
"I wish I could give each of them a hug, but I can't. Hopefully, you're satisfied with what I've done for the club so far."
