Joe Willock has said he is 'going to consider' joining Newcastle United on a permanent deal ahead of next season.
The 21-year-old scored again on Wednesday night to help the Magpies defeat Sheffield United, and that saw him become the youngest player to ever score in six consecutive Premier League games.
Willock has netted seven since joining Newcastle on loan in January, helping Steve Bruce's men dodge the drop with games to spare, and so it is no surprise the Magpies want to keep the Gunners' talent around.
Bruce said: "As I have said before, it's a double-edged sword. We have to respect he's Arsenal's player.
"If we can, we'd love to bring him here. Let's see what we can do because he's exactly what we needed.
"Joe has still got a lot to learn but we have given him a freedom and a licence to get forward. He is a young player enjoying his football."
And after scoring again in the black and white, Willock has said he may be open to a permanent move to St James' Park, but he has warned he will need to do what is best for him
He told Sky Sports: "I'm not sure. I need need to have a conversation and see what the best move for me is. I've made friends for life and made a really big connection with the fans.
"It's one of my options and I am going to consider it."
Willock is under contract at Arsenal until 2023, and there is some hope among Gunners fans that the youngster can be the answer to Mikel Arteta's creative void in midfield.
Though, with Arsenal looking to sign Martin Odegaard on a permanent deal this summer, Willock could be a secondary option, and given how well his Newcastle spell has gone, that could persuade him to walk away from the Emirates Stadium.
