Joe Willock rocked by new injury and facing scan during international break

Joe Willock is facing a scan to determine whether he will be fit to play after the international break.

The former Arsenal player suffered a hip injury and was withdrawn after 30 minutes at Molineux yesterday as Newcastle's poor run in the Premier League continues.

Willock has not looked fully fit since his second stint started after playing a tiny fraction in pre-season.

Steve Bruce said: "Unfortunately he took a knock to his hip, which he couldn't carry on with.

"It looks a sore one.

"Until we have scans, we won’t know the severity of it.

"We're disappointed with that as well."

Bruce suffered more stick from fans during the 2-1 loss but must now face up to another fortnight of scrutiny.

He said: "Did we deserve to get beat?

"I don't think so but unfortunately, we have conceded two goals which are practically identical goals."

Newcastle hope to have Martin Dubravka, Jamaal Lascelles and Jonjo Shelvey back after the international break while Callum Wilson is also back in training.
