Joe Willock filmed again at Arsenal base in new Saka post as Newcastle fans wait on transfer

Joe Willock has been filmed at Arsenal's training ground as Newcastle United face a race against time to get the deal done before the start of the new season.

Newcastle agreed a fee worth in excess of £20m with the Gunners over the weekend but personal terms still needed to be finalised and the player had to undergo a medical.

Although Willock has played just 48 minutes of football in pre-season, Steve Bruce would dearly love to have the deal wrapped up before the start of the new campaign.

Newcastle would have to register Willock with the Premier League by 12pm on Friday for the Londoner to be eligible to face West Ham at St James' Park on Sunday.

There is still time to do that, of course, but Willock has been filmed at Arsenal's training base posing with the Premier League player of the month award he won in May following a string of impressive performances on loan at Newcastle.

Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah both captured the bare-chested 21-year-old with the unboxed award in front of his locker at the club's London Colney training base on Wednesday.

The short clips also show a notice on the television screen behind Willock about media images, which is dated August 11.

The squad were split in two before facing the cameras and Willock's name was listed in the second group alongside Nicolas Pepe, Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe, Alexandre Lacazette, Folarin Balogun, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Kieran Tierney.

Mikel Arteta will be inevitably be asked about that when the Arsenal boss faces the media on Thursday morning.
