Joe Wicks has sad news for fans of his PE lessons

Joe Wicks has become a hero for parents during lockdown by hosting daily live PE lessons as schools were forced to close.

But the Body Coach has shared some sad news with his fans.

Joe has announced that he has decided to end the special series after more than four months of trying to help keep the nation's kids fit and healthy.

During a chat on Tuesday's Good Morning Britain, and exhausted Joe told Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway that he needs "a break to re-energise".

"Well 18 weeks in, 18 solid weeks with no breaks, and I've loved it, and I've loved every minute of it," Joe explained on the ITV show.

"We've done 75 million views globally and I spent the day yesterday in my office reading letters. I've had piles of letters and parcels and cards from children, and it was the most emotional day I've ever had in my life.

"I've actually stopped to realise the impact I've had on, not just kids, but like 70-year-old people living on their own, and people with autism and disabilities, so I was really emotional."

Now Joe has decided to stop the PE lessons for now and focus on spending some time with his family.

But he did offer some hope adding: "But I will be back and doing PE With Joe in blocks and keeping the legacy."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
