Joe Wicks forced to quit his online PE lessons - but he has drafted in a replacement

Joe Wicks has been helping to keep that nation's kids - and adults if we're honest - active during the current lockdown.

But the Body Coach star has had to temporarily quit his online PE lessons after having surgery on his hand.

Joe, 33, admitted himself into hospital on Friday after a previous hand injury became enflamed.

The health and fitness guru initially fractured his hand at the end of March after falling off his bike and has already had one operation on the injury.

But he has had to have another following a possible infection meaning he will be out of action.

Though it's not all bad news as the dad-of-two joked that he was bringing in the "hottest substitute teacher ever" to keep us all up and moving.

Joe started up his online PE lessons when schools closed in March (BBC / Comic Relief / Children In Need)

Writing to his 3.4m followers on Instagram, Joe explained: "I’ve had to call in a supply teacher for Monday’s #pewithjoe. It’s my beautiful wife Rosie.

"She’s kindly agreed to come on the live stream with me to demonstrate the moves as I really need to let my hand rest for a few days now I've had the wires removed."

He went on to say of his 28-year-old wife: "It's totally out of her comfort zone so I've got so much love and respect for her right now.

"She's always there for me when I need her the most and she knows how much it means to me that I don’t let anyone down with these daily workouts.

"I’ll still be leading the session and coaching you all but Rosie will be demonstrating the exercises for you. Let’s wish her good luck on her debut PE class."

He shared the news with a gorgeous photo of the couple on a carousel ride at their wedding last year.

Joe and Rosie have already been inundated with support from fans.

"Good luck Rosie. You will be, as always, fabulous," said one.

Another commented: "What a wonderful lady. We look forward to meeting you Rosie!"

"She’ll smash it," encouraged a third while a fourth added: "Aw amazing, what a team!!"
