Joe Swash shares goodbye message to his nan who he couldn't see before she died

Joe Swash has shared an emotional goodbye message to his nan who has died during lockdown.

The Dancing On Ice winner described the situation as "excruciating" as he couldn't say a final farewell to 'Nanny Fran'.

Joe shared a photo of him with his beloved nan who was cradling his youngest son Rex who he shares with Loose Women star Stacey Solomon.

The 38-year-old wrote: "Goodnight Nanny Fran. Sleep well. I miss you so much already. I'm heartbroken.

"I wish I could have spent more time with you. I wish I could have seen you more before you left us. I wish I could have said goodbye. But I know you know how much we all love you and you’ll be watching down on us, looking after us forever more."

"Goodbye Nan. Love you," the dad-of-two said before adding: "Thinking of all of those who have lost loved ones during this awful situation. Thinking of all of the people who weren't able to be by their loved one's side.

"Those who won't be able to say goodbye at their funerals. It's excruciating. And cruel. Sending so much love your way."

The presenter didn't say if his grandmother's death was linked to the coronavirus pandemic.

Joe's girlfriend Stacey also shared a post to her 3.3m followers writing alongside the same picture: "Thinking of those who have posted lost loved ones and not been able to be there by their side.

"Or say goodbye. It's just awful. Love you all."

The 29-year-old said earlier today that she was taking a break from her Instagram page after regularly keeping fans updated on her days in lockdown.

Sharing a photo of their son, Rex, Stacey wrote: "I'm going to be off my stories today… For anyone who's having an awful day. Or feeling alone… I really hope this smile brings you happiness.

"Even on the saddest days, Pickle you give us so many moments when we forget all that’s happening and only know the joy you bring us…"
