Joe Swash says Stacey Solomon 'annoyed' kids by getting tattoo tributed to him

Joe Swash has revealed his wife Stacey Solomon annoyed their kids after she got a tattoo tributed to him. The mum-of-five was supposed to get a tattoo dedicated to her children but her husband has since admitted he was 'really surprised' she got one for him.

The former EastEnders actor appeared on Loose Women on Wednesday (May 10) to speak to the panellists about his recent stint on I'm A Celebrity... South Africa. The 41-year-old entered camp on day seven alongside fellow EastEnders star Dean Gaffney but was booted out earlier this week after losing out in a trial.

Speaking to the Loose Women panellist, Joe revealed he missed his children and wife Stacey, who he married at their home Pickle Cottage in July 2022, which made his experience in the 'all star' series very difficult.

He also noted the sweet tattoo tribute that Stacey had got for him - the word Joe inked on her ring finger - as he admitted he was shocked because she was supposed to get one dedicated to her kids, reports The Mirror.

Speaking on the show, Joe revealed: "I was so surprised! She was going off to do one for the kids and get one for the kids, but I don't think she could make her mind up so she got me done. The kids were so annoyed about it, they were like 'what's going on here mum?'".

Joe now feels the pressure to get one for Stacey – but thinks she'll accept a grand gesture with his choice.

"I feel like she's expecting one back and she's only got a little one on her finger. You know what Stacey's like, she's going to want one on my forehead or something," he explained, leaving the panellists laughing.

Joe Swash was in tears as he was missing his family before his I'm A Celebrity exit (ITV)

Despite the surprise, Joe revealed he was very touched by the inking, adding: "I was so touched by it, I said to her 'you do love me don't you'."

Stacey and Joe share children Rex, Rose and Belle together while Stacey has Leighton and Zachary from previous relationships and Joe has son Harry from a past romance, too.

Joe previously opened up about how difficult the South African jungle show was this time around because he was away from his kids.

"I think I found it tougher ultimately because of being away from the kids for so long. I missed my family so much. We had our phones taken away and I’ve never not had communication with them before," he explained.

"My kids are young and I knew they wouldn’t really understand where I was and would be upset. It really played on me. And being in the camp, it always brings up memories for me of Stacey. If it wasn’t for the show, I would never have my family."

He added: "My family were always in the front of my mind. I found that really difficult. A lot harder than I thought I would. But again I was really lucky as the people in camp kept my spirits high."
