Joe Swash regrets he couldn't fulfill his nan's last wish because of COVID disruption

Joe Swash told the Loose Women that he feels a deal of regret having lost his beloved nan during lockdown.

He told that he was "heartbroken" after his beloved nan Fran died, and that he wasn't able to say goodbye as the ongoing coronavirus crisis kept him away.

"I miss you too much already," he wrote at the time.

Now, as he opened up about mental health, Joe revealed that coronavirus kept him from fulfilling her last wish.

"That's the difficulty, with losing someone at the moment," he told the panel which included partner Stacey Solomon, "We didn't get to say goodbye.

"And the thought of my nan being on her own as well was really difficult.

"It just sucks that it happened during corona, because it means we couldn't fulfill her last wish - she planned her funeral, she knew how she wanted it."

Joe also opened up about his experiences with mental health.

After Stacey told that he was a "closed book" during the early days of their romance, Joe admitted that she had helped him to talk about his emotions.

Joe added that having two boys of his own, and living with two more of Stacey's, means he has been forced to address the topic.

He has Harry, 12, with his ex, and Rex, one, with Stacey, while she also has Zachary, 11 and Leighton, seven.

"Having kids and having them all being boys of the age where they need to know things," Joe revealed, "They need to know about emotions because as a young man, it's difficult.

"I'm having to be a lot more open which is probably really healthy for me."

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
