Joe Swash 'heartbroken' as grandmother dies and he couldn't even say goodbye

Joe Swash has revealed the devastating news that his grandma Fran has recently passed away.

The 38-year-old dad of two said in an emotional post that he was 'heartbroken' after being unable to say goodbye to Nanny Fran before she died.

Joe also admitted that losing a loved one during the ongoing pandemic had been 'excruciating and cruel'.

In a touching Instagram message, the Dancing On Ice champion said that his thoughts were with those who had similarly struggled with the loss of family 'during this awful situation'.

Alongside the post, he shared a picture in which he grinned at the camera alongside Fran as she held baby Rex.

"Goodnight Nanny Fran Sleep well. I miss you so much already. I’m heartbroken," he wrote in the touching message.

"I wish I could have spent more time with you. I wish I could have seen you more before you left us. I wish I could have said goodbye.

"But I know you know how much we all love you and you’ll be watching down on us, looking after us forever more. Goodbye Nan. Love you."

Opening up to his 1.4 million followers about the tragic news, Joe also reached out to others who have faced such loss.
