The 49ers were cruising, up 34-10 in Cincinnati late in the third quarter and just trying to put the finishing touches on a win. Instead they were hit with a potentially devastating injury.
Left tackle Joe Staley went down on a run play to his side and limped slowly off the field after receiving treatment on his left leg.
He was taken to the locker room on a golf cart.
