Joe Schilling out of Bellator 249; Curtis Millender fight scrapped from lineup

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – The Bellator 249 lineup just got one bout shorter.

On Monday, Joe Schilling vs. Curtis Millender was canceled after the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulations denied licensure to Schilling (4-6 MMA, 3-3 BMMA).

Due to the short-notice nature of the fallout, a replacement opponent is not being sought for Millender (18-6 MMA, 3-3 BMMA). The card will proceed with 11 fights.

A Bellator official informed MMA Junkie of the fight removal Monday but didn’t provide further specifics of why Schilling was denied his license.

Bellator 249 takes place Thursday at Mohegan Sun Arena. The main card airs on CBS Sports Network following prelims on MMA Junkie.

With the change, the Bellator 249 lineup includes:

  • Cris Cyborg vs. Arlene Blencowe – for Bellator women’s featherweight title
  • Patricky Freire vs. Jaleel Willis
  • Ricky Bandejas vs. Leandro Higo
  • Saad Awad vs. Mandel Nallo
  • Steve Mowry vs. Shawn Teed
  • Joseph Creer vs. Andrew Kapel
  • Kyle Crutchmer vs. Kemran Lachinov
  • Christian Edwards vs. Hamza Salim
  • Da’Mon Blackshear vs. Mike Kimbel
  • Aviv Gozali vs. Logan Neal
  • Albert Gonzales vs. Kastriot Xhema
