Podcaster Joe Rogan once again questioned President Donald Trump’s Iran war strategy just days after they appeared together in the Oval Office.
Rogan endorsed Trump for president in 2024, but has since grown increasingly critical of his administration, particularly over the ongoing Iran war.
On Thursday’s episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, which featured comedian James McCann, the podcaster suggested the administration’s timing in Iran “doesn’t make sense.”
“People have wanted people out of Iran, the people that are running Iran, for 47 years, but no one has actually gone and done it the way this administration did it,” Rogan said. “And it doesn’t make sense they chose to do it when they did.”
He continued: “Like what made sense wa …when they dropped that bunker buster bomb to disable their nuclear plant, or nuclear weapons manufacturing … that was like, that's it. But then when we went back into Iran, I'm like, what happened? I mean, like, what caused that?”
This comes less than a week after Rogan visited Trump in the Oval Office for the signing of an executive order to accelerate research for treatments of serious mental illnesses.
Rogan went on to question whether Israel played a role in the administration’s decision to launch the war: “But, you know, why did we do it? I don't know. I think because of Israel, if I had to guess."
The president has denied the suggestion that Israel had talked him into the war with Iran.
“Israel never talked me into the war with Iran, the results of Oct. 7th, added to my lifelong opinion that IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON, did,” he wrote on Truth Social Monday.
Rogan also questioned the Trump administration’s exit plan.
"You got to wonder, like, how do you get out of this, and then what does the exit look like? Do we have troops over there forever now? Do we subsidize them if we blow up their power grid and all their infrastructure?" he said.

The president’s timeline for the war, which began Feb. 28, remains unclear.
“Don’t rush me...so we're in Vietnam, like, for 18 years. We’re in Iraq for many, many years. I don’t like to say World War II, because that was a biggie, but we were four-and-a-half, almost five years in World War II. We were in the Korean War for seven years,” Trump told reporters Thursday.
“I’ve been doing this for six weeks, and their military is totally defeated,” he added.
Trump also explained that he could not answer the question because “they (Iran) have all new leadership, and they’re fighting like cats and dogs.”
