Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Joe Rodon.
The defender becomes Spurs' seventh major signing of the summer transfer window as his move from Championship outfit Swansea City was made official on Friday evening.
Furthermore, he's the third defensive addition after Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon, and football.london understands the 22-year-old which will cost them £11million plus add-ons.
After the transfer announcement, supporters got to see the Wales international holding up the Tottenham shirt at his unveiling - but what squad number has the centre-back taken?
Well, that's been confirmed.
"We are delighted to announce the signing of Joe Rodon on a permanent transfer from Swansea City, subject to international clearance," a statement reads via the club's website.
"The Welsh international central defender joins us on a contract until 2025 and will wear the number 14 shirt."
In agreeing to wear no.14, Rodon appears to have missed out on his dream shirt number.
Last season and in the opening weeks of the current campaign Rodon wore the number 4 shirt at Swansea after switching from number 6 last summer.
At Spurs, the incumbent no.4 is Toby Alderweireld.
This means the only way Rodon could get his favoured no.4 shirt is if the Belgium international leaves at some point in the future.
Alternatively, he could opt to stick with the no.14 throughout his Spurs career - a squad number that has been worn by the likes of David Ginola, Luka Modric and Gustavo Poyet for the north London outfit.
"It’s a great story and to join Ben here now is even better for me," said Rodon in his first interview as a Spurs player. "Ben and Gareth are two massive players for Wales, and hopefully they can help me settle in quickly and make me feel even more welcome.
"Yes, that was a big part for me. Hopefully, it all goes perfectly.
"As everyone knows, Jose Mourinho is one of the biggest managers in the world, and all I can do is be excited, learn every day and hopefully take it all on board."
