Arsenal manager Joe Montemurro bowed out in style at Meadow Park as his side thrashed Crystal Palace 9-0 to progress to the quarter-finals of the Women's FA Cup.
Goals from Kim Little, Beth Mead, Danielle van de Donk, Jordan Nobbs, Vivianne Miedema, Jill Roord, Katie McCabe and a brace from Noelle Maritz secured them a spot in the last eight.
And even though the Australian is leaving after three and a half years in charge and so won't be there to coach them through the next round - which will take place in the autumn - he was glad to see his players put in such a dominant display.
"I just felt all week that they really wanted to finish the year on a high and make sure that they set things up for next year, so all credit to them, to the players," he said in the post-match press conference.
"They were just fantastic today and it was great to get everyone involved and and tinker with a few things - it was nice."
The Gunners could have been forgiven for having a touch of the end-of-term feeling about them, and Montemurro agreed that it had a "summery" feel despite the changeable weather conditions.
"I think it was a nice recap game in terms of just the movements, the proactiveness, the brave way we wanted to play and we took a few risks, and I liked that, and it was beautiful to sum up everything that we've tried to implement through the years on a day like today and I couldn't have asked for any more."
Montemurro - who said on resigning that he intended to take a break to rest and spend more time with his family - rebuffed suggestions that he is about to take up the role as Juventus head coach, although he confirmed that he has been approached about various vacancies.
"I haven't agreed to anything nor do I intend on making any decisions for now," he said.
