Joe Mixon was one of NFL’s best high-pressure performers in 2018

It isn’t hard to see why Joe Mixon is the future centerpiece of the Cincinnati Bengals offense under head coach Zac Taylor.

Mixon was elite last year on his way to an AFC rushing title, going for 1,168 yards and eight touchdowns on a 4.9 per-carry average with another 43 catches through the air.

As Pro Football Focus notes above, he earned the highest grade of any back in “clutch” situations last year, meaning in the fourth quarter of one-score games. And the sample size isn’t too unreasonable, as it had a minimum of 100 snaps.

It is simply another positive mark in the column for Mixon, who did this last year behind a bad offensive line and with key names like Andy Dalton and A.J. Green missing time.
