Joe Mixon sounds off on Bengals fans leaving Week 2 loss early

Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon wasn’t in a good mood after his team’s Week 2, 41-17 loss at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers, which dropped the team to 0-2.

Speaking with the media after the game, Mixon took issue with fans booing and leaving.

Per WCPO’s Keenan Singleton: “It’s definitely frustrating…you just see fans leaving and booing…at the end of the day we want to win too…if they feel like they can do it better, come try out.”

Mixon would probably like to have that last point back, but it’s not hard to see why he’s frustrated. He played through an ankle injury Sunday and the line in front of him has now helped him produce just 27 yards on 17 carries through two games.

An injury cost Mixon about a half of play in Week 1 before the drop to 0-2 on Sunday, which puts a severe historical damper on the team’s playoff chances already. That the team looked disinterested while getting blown away in the home opener didn’t help.

Mixon took time after the game to issue further messaging to the fans:
